For students / parents:

You have the right to withdraw from any tuition slots by sending us an email on [email protected] within 14 days of sending us an online or manual application form, without giving any reason whatsoever. Text messages, Facebook messages or simple phone calls will not be considered as withdrawals. After the period of 14 days expires no withdrawal will be possible and the following terms and conditions below will apply:

                1. Moreover if you have selected to start tuition slots before the 14 day period, you are hereby acknowledging that you will lose your right of withdrawal for those lessons which would have already been given within this period. 

                2. Cancellation or moving of the booked Malta Tutors slots has to be made at least 48 hours before the date of such lesson or lessons by sending an email on [email protected]. Such Malta Tutors slot will be moved to a mutually convenient date and time, within that same week or else, the week after. If however one is unexpectedly sick before a homework club slot, a scanned medical certificate to [email protected] is required in order to move such lesson to another date or time. In case of one-to-one homework club slots, these will be replaced with a homework club slot on Skype. Text messages, Facebook messages or simple phone calls will not be considered as cancellations. Without the above procedure any unattended homework club slots shall still be invoiced and be due or if already paid shall not be refunded. Note that extra homework club slots requested by a student outside the normal set of homework club slots, cannot be cancelled.

             For classes with an indefinite end date:   3. If one intends terminating the full Malta Tutors slots, for whatever reason, one is to notify us 3 weeks in advance by sending us an email on [email protected]. Text messages, Facebook messages or simple phone calls will not be considered as termination requests. One is moreover bound to pay for any lessons within those three weeks from notification of termination, whether one attends for such Malta Tutors slots or not.
                3.1 Failure to settle payment within 10 working days from due date of invoice, whether this is for a lesson taken and not paid for yet (on teacher's good will) or else within the 3 weeks notification not settle, this will incur an additional EUR 25 administration fee. Student / Parent will be notified via email. 
                3.2 Failure to settle payment within 20 working days from due date of invoice, whether this is for a lesson taken and not paid for yet (on teacher's good will) or else within the 3 weeks notification not settle, this will incur an additional EUR 50 administration fee. Student / Parent will be notified via email. 
                3.3 Failure to settle payment within 30 working days from due date of invoice, whether this is for a lesson taken and not paid for yet (on teacher's good will) or else within the 3 weeks notification not settle, interest at 8% will be incurred on the amount due. 

Any refund requested, due to cancellation or termination, will be bound by a 50% surcharge on the refunded amount or EUR 500, whichever is of lowest value, retained by Malta Tutors, covering registration, together with the deduction of any bank fees incurred for bank transfer. This amount cannot be transferred to credit for tuition. In the case that students would have obtained notes as part of their full package, €75 will be retained to cover such notes.

For classes with a definite end date: There is no refund for classes or courses booked and paid for with a definite end date of 5 months or less, whether these classes are taken or not. If sessions have not been paid yet, the payment will be due until the end of the course. 

For business classes: There is no refund for classes or courses booked and paid for, for courses provided for business professionals, including: Excel for business, Data Science for business, English for business, Maltese for business, whether these classes are taken or not. These courses are courses which always have a definite start and end date provided on the invoice.

For specific classes: There is no refund for classes or courses booked and paid for, for courses provided for business professionals, including: English for foreigners, Maltese for foreigners, whether these classes are taken or not. These courses are courses which always have a definite start and end date provided on the invoice.

In the eventuality that schools have to close, or in-person interaction not allowed, any service which was to be rendered, will be carried out online. 

Should a student fail to pay for the next set of lessons, by the last paid day of tuition, no lesson will be provided and student will be asked to return home, if lessons are given in person, unless a cancellation email has been sent at least 8 hours prior to the lesson and payment for such cancellation settled at the beginning of the lesson. 

Payments are carried out as per the following dates:
Summer sessions are between 1st June - 21st September
Winter sessions 1st Semester are between 22nd September - 27th February
Winter sessions 2nd Semester are between 28th February - 19th June 

One is to apply and book for courses at least 48 hours before they want to start the lesson / session, with online payment being carried out 24 hours before session is to commence. Failure to carry out payment on time, will not confirm reschedule session, if this is on a one-to-one basis, should this be a group course, student will start as of the following session. Failure to pay, will cancel application and booking. Any payment is to be carried out with a proof of payment sent via email.

Online Lessons

Online lessons cannot be recorded by either tutor or student unless both parties are notified in writing. Recording and dissemination (or non-dissemination) of lessons will be charged with the appropriate legal procedures.
Public holidays are not included, unless specified or requested.
